Career Counseling & Career Orientation

In the context of with employees who may be found to be redundant, or when individuals are considering a career review, Career Counselling or Career Orientation can be a valuable option.

Utilising their professional perspective Nassau Group is well equipped to offer personalised guidance towards an individual’s new future. Over a number of meetings we will help find his or her common denominator, forcing towards a clear focus which will allow to take prescient next steps. A variety of Personality Tests and Presentation Skills will be the foundation of this process, which will result in a Personal Plan. This plan will give a clear insight in his or her talents, pitfalls, qualities, core ambitions, and career options.

Career Counselling takes six to eight weeks, with individual sessions being no longer than two hours. Each session consists of one-on-one personal conversations, addressing different topics. After completion of the process he or she will receive a Personal Manifesto.

Career Counselling Building Blocks

Intake: Meeting the individual, no charge applies.

Assessment: During this meeting the following topics will be addressed:

  • Career
  • In depth analyses of OPQ (Occupational Personality Questionnaire). The Personality Profile will be assessed based on the individual’s current self-image, in relation to professional knowledge, skill sets, and experience.
  • Preferred position within a team
  • Motivation and personal drive
  • Competence evaluation
  • Understanding of Leadership and Staff Styles

This Building Block helps create objective understanding of the patterns you have created over time in your life. Does chance play a role? Based on the pattern of your life, what would be a logical next step?

Defining Talent

Your Talent includes the full potential you carry inside, which allows you to contribute in a meaningful way. Your Talent sets you apart. Your Talent is what makes you uniquely YOU.

CV and exploring career options

With you we will identify your ambition and employment opportunities. Together we will clarify to which industries, organisations, and areas you will focus your job applications.

Presentation and Job Application Training

Goal is to grow and optimise your Personal Presentation skills. Key will be to maximise your opportunities during interviews through understanding and utilising your appearance. How will I be perceived, which traits are most positive, and how can I guide the conversation to receive the best result? You will be video recorded.

The following topics will be addressed:

  • Core message: What do I want to convey?
  • Presentation Techniques (attitude, personal appearance, intonation and tone of voice, presentation)
  • Speaking concisely
  • Phone Conversation and Job Interview, role play

Social Media & Personal Branding

Using Social Media can be a great tool in finding a new job. We will teach you how to be found and seen. Social Media offers the tools to showcase and share your professional profile, to find and maintain professional relationships.

  • Utilising LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook for business, Google+, Pinterest, and blogging
  • Creating your Personal Brand through Social Media
  • Maximising your online visibility, and full understanding of job sites

Coaching ON the Job

Having finished the Career Counselling process, you might feel the need for continued Personal Coaching. Nassau Group offers online, phone, and one-on-one personal coaching.

Topics could include:

  • Effective Application letters
  • Appropriate and focused motivation
  • Upcoming Job Application interviews
